Peace, Birdsongs, and Wandering Thoughts

This morning, my feet hit the floor at 0615 hrs. CST… but I didn’t start moving.
Instead, I slowed down.

I made a latte, slipped into the garage, and let the world hold me for a minute.  The air was 78° with just enough wind to move the chimes outside. The sky was cloudy, but not gloomy, just soft. The birds were singing, and the breeze carried a kind of stillness that I didn’t want to interrupt. So, I didn’t.

I just sat.  No lists. No pressure. No pretending.  Just me, my thoughts, and the sound of peace trying to reach me between all the noise.

And truthfully?  My mind is everywhere right now. I feel like I’m holding every emotion all at once.  Grief. Gratitude. Fatigue. Hope. Purpose. Pain.  All of it… showing up, uninvited but welcome.

So here I sit.  Not trying to fix anything. Not rushing to feel better.  Just… being.

Sometimes, the most healing thing we can do is be still long enough to hear our own soul speak through the breeze, through the birdsong, through the windchimes that sound like heaven saying, “I’m still with you.”

Life doesn’t always make space for us to rest.
So we have to make the space ourselves.
We have to choose moments that don’t demand productivity but invite peace.

This morning, I chose that moment, and I believe that’s enough for today.
